Shogher Ohannessian

Shogher Ohannessian is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in applied microeconomics and quantitative public policy, currently employed at the California Policy Lab since September 2023. Prior to this role, Shogher served at the University of Illinois at Chicago from August 2017 to June 2023, undertaking various positions including Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and Instructor. Additional experience includes a Student Mentor position at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases from June 2021 to August 2022, and a Research Assistant role at the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project in 2017. Shogher also contributed as a Research Assistant and Research Assistant Intern at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia from January 2015 to August 2017, and worked as a Graduate Assistant at the American University of Beirut from 2013 to 2016. Shogher holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics and a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois Chicago, as well as two Master's degrees and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
