Danielle Hannan

Danielle Hannan has extensive experience in operational policy and innovation, currently serving as the Operational Policy Lead at Callaghan Innovation since July 2018, where engagement with government and industry stakeholders focuses on developing impactful products and services for innovative businesses. Prior roles at Callaghan Innovation include Manager of Partnerships & Policy Design, and Business Relationship Manager, emphasizing strategic program delivery and relationship management within the startup sector. Previously, Danielle served as Investment Manager and Private Secretary for Research, Science and Innovation at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, implementing science policy initiatives and managing government investments in research. Danielle began a career in forensic biology as a Senior Technician at the Institute of Environmental Science and Research Ltd. Educationally, Danielle holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Genetics and Marine Biology from Victoria University of Wellington, a Master of Science in Biological Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, both from The University of Auckland.
