Ian McCarty

Ian McCarty, CFA, serves as a Portfolio Manager at CalSTRS since April 2006, specializing in Structured Products, Agency MBS, and Commercial MBS. Prior to this role, Ian worked as an Investment Officer at CalSTRS, focusing on trading and analysis of Agency and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities. Ian's previous experience includes founding Stage 1 Fund Services, LLC, where consulting and fund administration for startup hedge funds were provided. Early in Ian's career, positions were held at Citco Fund Services as an Account Manager and Barclays Global Investors in various roles, including Manager of North American Settlements and Project Manager, focusing on fund accounting and trade settlement. Ian holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from California State University-Sacramento and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
