Kate Guts

Kate Guts is a PhD student and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) currently serving as a full-time lecturer at Seattle University since April 2010, teaching various psychology courses. In addition to academic responsibilities, Kate Guts has a diverse research background, with projects on trauma-informed interventions and mental health stigma, and has presented findings at international conferences. Kate Guts operates a private practice as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and consultant while also serving as a death doula, providing psychological support for individuals and families during the dying process. Previous experience includes adjunct teaching at Renton Technical College, psychotherapy at Sound Mental Health, and research assistance in studying suicidal behaviors and dialectical behavioral therapy applications. Educational credentials include a PhD in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University, along with multiple degrees in psychology, human development, and philosophy.
