Dra. Flor De Liz Santiago Fernández has a diverse work experience. Dra. Flor De Liz began their career as a social worker at the Departamento de la Familia from April 2012 until November 2014. From there, they went on to establish FamilyBalanceTherapy in 2018, where they served as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Administrator. Dra. Flor De Liz also founded and administered Family Balance Therapy during this time. In 2018, they became the Vice-president of the San Juan Chapter Board at Colegio de Profesionales del Trabajo Social de Puerto Rico. In 2019, they were elected as the President of the Association of Graduate Students of Autism and Special Education at Cambridge College. Dra. Flor De Liz joined Universidad Ana G. Méndez (UAGM) as a Professor in December 2022. Dra. Flor De Liz was also a Professor at Universidad Interamericana Recinto Metro, teaching Supervised Practice of Clinical Social Work Students at the Graduate Level from August 2020 to October 2020. Presently, they are an Adjunct Professor at Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, they are an author and writer, with their work starting in June 2013. Dra. Flor De Liz has also served as the Secretary to the Board at Fundación Cabecitas Rapadas since February 2017.
Dra. Flor De Liz Santiago Fernández holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Special Education, which they obtained from Nova Southeastern University- Puerto Rico Regional Campus between 2019 and 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Education from Cambridge College in 2019, specializing in Autism and Special Education. In 2018, they obtained a Certificate as a Registered Behavior Technician from the Verbal Behavior Institute. Dra. Flor De Liz also holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, which they completed between 2015 and 2017. Dra. Santiago Fernández began their educational journey by obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, between 1996 and 2001.
