Mark West

Mark West has extensive work experience in engineering and leadership roles. Their most recent position is the VP of Engineering at Cambridge Consultants, which they started in May 2021. Before that, they worked as the Engineering Director at Medtronic from December 2017 to October 2020. Prior to that, they were the Head of Engineering at Bio-Rad Laboratories from April 2016 to December 2017. Mark also has experience as a Principal at Continuum from November 2009 to April 2016 and as a Senior Director of Product Development at US Genomics from May 2005 to October 2009. Before joining US Genomics, they held the position of a Principal Engineer at Continuum from May 1997 to May 2005. Mark started their professional career as a Lead Engineer at Hexel Corporation from April 1995 to May 1997. Mark's early experience includes working as a Research Assistant at MIT from September 1990 to February 1995 and as an Engineer at Motorola from March 1993 to August 1993.

Mark West earned a B.Eng. degree in Engineering Design and Manufacture from the University of Hull in 1990. Mark then pursued further education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they obtained an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 and a Ph.D. in the same field in 1995.
