Christopher Winter has over 18 years of experience in intellectual property law. From 2002-2006, they worked as a Trainee Patent Attorney at Reddie & Grose, Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys. From 2006-2007, they were a Patent Attorney at D Young & Co, Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys. From 2007-2008, they were a Patent Attorney at Sagittarius IP, LLP. From 2008-2011, they were a European Patent Attorney at MedImmune. From 2011-2012, they were a European Patent Counsel at AstraZeneca. From 2019-2023, they were the Director of Global IP (EMEA) at Illumina, where they provided strategic IP leadership and counselling for Illumina's EMEA business, as well as support for early stage research on key aspects of Illumina's SBS technology. Christopher also managed Illumina's IP litigation against BGI in key EP jurisdictions. Currently, they are the Head of Intellectual Property at Cambridge Epigenetix.
Christopher Winter obtained their MA in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford between 1996 and 1999. Christopher then obtained their MSc in Management of Intellectual Property from Queen Mary, University of London between 2001 and 2002. Christopher'seducational background was further supplemented by obtaining a Chartered Patent Attorney certification from the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and a European Patent Attorney certification from the European Patent Office. Christopher'ssecondary education was obtained from Radley College between 1991 and 1996.
