Lauren Caplan

Lauren Caplan has a diverse work experience starting from 2007. Lauren worked as a Senior Counselor at URJ Camp George from 2007 to 2010. Lauren then worked as a Senior Counselor at Camp Mountain Chai from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, they worked as a Student Associate Early Childhood Educator at Unicorn Daycare, where they planned and implemented play-based curriculum and effectively communicated with parents and caregivers. Lauren continued their work in early childhood education at West End Parents Daycare in 2014 and Vradenburg Junior Public School in 2015. At Vradenburg Junior Public School, they created personalized programs for children who struggled with reading and comprehension. In the same year, they also worked at Uxendon Manor Primary School as a Student Associate Early Childhood Educator, creating age-appropriate lesson plans and effectively communicating with parents. In 2016, they joined TEFL Worldwide Prague as a TEFL Teacher, working with ESL learners at various levels and creating creative lesson plans. Lauren then returned to Camp Mountain Chai in 2016 as a Communications and Social Media Specialist and later became a Unit Leader in 2017. Most recently, they have been working at Bialik Hebrew Day School since 2018 as a Kindergarten teacher and Supply Teaching Assistant.

Lauren Caplan has a diverse education history. Lauren obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University, where they studied from 2014 to 2016. Before that, they earned a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from George Brown College, attending from 2012 to 2014. Lauren also pursued studies in the Social Sciences at Western University from 2008 to 2010. Regarding additional certifications, Lauren obtained a Youth Mental Health First Aid certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in June 2022. In November 2016, they completed a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course at TEFL Worldwide Prague. Furthermore, Lauren is certified in CPR and First Aid from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association, acquired in June 2016. Lauren is also a Registered Early Childhood Educator, certified by the College of Early Childhood Educators in June 2016. Lastly, Lauren obtained a certification in the We Will Read Program from the Toronto District School Board in April 2015.
