Abera Surendran

Abera Surendran has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. They are currently working as an RWE Research Analyst at CADTH since September 2022. Prior to this, Abera worked at the University of Ottawa from 2016 to 2022, where they were a Doctoral Student in Microbiology & Immunology, a Teaching Assistant, and a Masters Student. Abera also gained experience as a Strategy & Integration Intern at the National Research Council Canada in 2019. In addition, they worked as a Student Research Assistant at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in 2016 and as a Biologics Co-op Student at adMare BioInnovations in 2015. Abera's earlier experiences include being an Honours Thesis Student at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton in 2014, a Downstream Platform Co-op Student at Sanofi in 2014, and a Summer Intern at the Institut de recherche en immunologie et en cancérologie (IRIC) in 2013.

Abera Surendran completed their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and International Baccalaureate Diploma at Turner Fenton Secondary School, from 2007 to 2011. Abera then pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry with a specialization in Biomedical Research at McMaster University from 2011 to 2016.
