Jesse Elliott PhD

Lead, Health Economics at Canada's Drug Agency

Jesse Elliott has a diverse work experience spanning various roles. In 2006, they started working as a Manuscript Editor at the Canadian Medical Association and continued in this role until 2014. In 2014, they joined the University of Ottawa Heart Institute's Cardiovascular Research Methods Centre as a Senior Research Methodologist, a position they held until 2020. During this time, they also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Ottawa, focusing on Intervention Studies in 2017. In 2018, Jesse became an Associate Editor at the CMAJ. From 2020 onwards, they have been associated with CADTH, initially as a Health Economics Research Officer, then as a Health Economist, and currently as the Lead of Health Economics.

Jesse Elliott, PhD, has an extensive education history in the field of epidemiology and molecular biology. Jesse began their academic journey at the University of Guelph, where they attained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Molecular Biology from 1998 to 2004. Following this, Jesse pursued a Masters of Science degree in Molecular Biology at the same institution from 2002 to 2004.

Continuing their education, Jesse joined the University of Ottawa, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Epidemiology from 2013 to 2015. Their focus on epidemiology further advanced as they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa from 2016 to 2020.

Jesse's educational background showcases a well-rounded expertise in both molecular biology and epidemiology, providing a strong foundation for their research and academic pursuits.
