Marisa Creatore has a strong background in public health and epidemiology. Marisa is currently the Executive Director of the Centre for Research on Pandemic Preparedness and Health Emergencies at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Prior to this, they served as the Associate Scientific Director of the CIHR Institute of Population and Public Health. Marisa was also an Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. Marisa has experience in analytics and research as the Director at BlueDot (formerly BioDiaspora), and they have held positions as an epidemiologist at St. Michael's Hospital and the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. Marisa began their career as an epidemiologist at the Centre for Research on Inner City Health at St. Michael's Hospital.
Marisa Creatore completed their B.Sc. degree in Biology and Psychology from Queen's University between 1992 and 1996. Marisa then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Epidemiology from Queen's University from 1998 to 2000. Continuing their educational journey, they obtained a Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Toronto, where they studied from 2003 to 2012.
