Monty Armstrong

Monty Armstrong is an experienced fire service professional currently serving as a Fire Prevention Officer at CN, starting in August 2024. With a long-standing association with the Institution of Fire Engineers, Canada Branch as Director since January 2017, Monty has also been an Adjunct Instructor at the Justice Institute of British Columbia since 2003, focusing on Bachelor's Degrees and Fire Officer Programs. Previously, Monty held various leadership roles including Assistant Fire Chief - Public Safety at the District of North Vancouver, Deputy Fire Chief at the City of Guelph and Township of Langley, and Deputy Chief, Fire Services at Rocky View County. Monty also contributed to Fire Prevention as a Lieutenant at the District of North Vancouver and was involved in family advocacy at Canuck Place Children's Hospice. As an educator, Monty served as an Online Instructor at Grand Canyon University, teaching courses in Executive Fire Service Leadership. Monty earned a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University and holds multiple certificates, including one in Labour Management Relations from the University of Saskatchewan.
