Wido Schnabel

Wido Schnabel is a seasoned professional in the renewable energy sector with extensive experience in business development and strategic consulting. Currently serving as Business Development Director for Sub-Sahara Africa at Canadian Solar Inc. since September 2014, Wido also chairs the board of the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association and previously held the chairman position at the German International School Cape Town until May 2016. Wido's entrepreneurial journey includes founding and managing Candor Renewables, providing consulting on renewable energy projects, and leading Jinko Solar’s business development in South Africa. Earlier roles include managing director at Candor Technologies and positions at Microsoft and Novell, focusing on training and certification programs. Wido holds a Matric from DHPS and an Abitur from Klenze Gymnasium Munich.
