Lourdes Vega

Lourdes Vega serves as the Director of the Research and Innovation Center on CO2 and H2 and holds the position of Professor of Chemical Engineering at Khalifa University since 2016. In addition, Lourdes has acted as the Senior Director of the Petroleum Institute and is a GRC Joint Chair Professor. Lourdes has been involved with Canal de Isabel II and Ercros as an independent board member since 2020 and 2016, respectively. In the academic sphere, Lourdes is an elected Corresponding Member of the Academy of Physical Chemistry, Mathematics and Natural Sciences and has served as Editor in Chief for the Journal of Molecular Liquids. Founding the Association of Spanish Scientists and Researchers in the UAE in 2020, Lourdes also co-founded Alya Technology & Innovation, serving as its CEO initially. Previous roles include Business Technology Manager at Air Products and Chemicals, Director at MATGAS A.I.E., and R&D Director at Carburos Metálicos. Lourdes holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Sevilla and has completed postdoctoral studies at Cornell University.
