Bruce Cameron, CPE has over 20 years of work experience in various roles related to port operations and security. Bruce is currently the Director of Cruise Operations at Canaveral Port Authority since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Port Tampa Bay from 2005 to 2022, holding positions such as General Manager of Cruise Operations, Port Operations Supervisor, and Access Control Sergeant/Manager. From 2007 to 2022, they were also a part of the Walkabout Committee at Tampa Cooperative Safety and Security Initiative. In 2012, Bruce worked as a Firearms Instructor in Florida, and from 2000 to 2004, they served in the United States Marine Corps with the 1st F.A.S.T. Company.
Bruce Cameron, CPE has a diverse education history with a strong focus on firearms and military training. In 1997, they completed their high school education at Chamberlain High School. Following that, in 2000-2001, Bruce attended the United States Marine Corps Bootcamp, where they earned the title of United States Marine.
In 2001, Bruce completed further military training at the United States Marine Corps School of Infantry, specializing in the role of a Grunt (designation 0311). Additionally, they attended the United States Marine Corps Security Force School, acquiring skills as a Gunslinger (designation 8152).
In 2012, Bruce's educational pursuits shifted towards firearms instruction. Bruce attended the NRA Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor School, focusing on becoming a certified Firearms Instructor.
Bruce's commitment to professional development is evident through their additional certification as a Certified Port Executive, obtained from the MacDonnell Group in April 2016.
