Dr Ruth Shean Ao

Dr. Ruth Shean AO is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in various sectors including vocational education, healthcare, and community services. Since January 2019, Dr. Shean has served as Chair of the National Centre for Vocational Education Research and as Chair (President) of the Cancer Council Western Australia. In addition, Dr. Shean holds positions as a Board Member of the Medical Board of Australia (WA Board) with AHPRA, and as a Non-Executive Director with Cancer Council Australia and Senses Australia. Dr. Shean's previous roles include Director General for multiple departments within the Government of Western Australia, where leadership encompassed workforce development, public sector standards, and disability services. A graduate of The University of Western Australia with a PhD in Social Psychology and a Master of Education, Dr. Shean has also completed the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
