Gareth Aston has a diverse work experience, starting in 2008 with Whyte & Mackay, where they held roles as Insight & Sales Analyst and Sales Support Analyst. Gareth then moved on to Tennent Caledonian Breweries Ltd. in 2011, initially as a Category Manager for On trade and Impulse, then as a Category Manager for All Channels, and eventually as the Head of Category & Customer Marketing on secondment. In this role, they implemented an "insight first" approach to customer marketing and achieved significant increases in category shoppers and feature/display levels. Since 2016, Gareth has been with C&C Group, initially as a Category & Insight Manager (Group), where they led research projects and developed strategies that resulted in substantial growth in sales and profit. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Customer and Commercial Insight, where they are responsible for implementing consumer-centric segmentation models and supporting the delivery of Minimum Pricing across key partners. Gareth also plays a crucial role as the only supplier-employed representative on the Evaluation Advisory Group, supporting the NHS in assessing the impact of Minimum Pricing for Alcohol.

Gareth Aston completed their education from 2000 to 2005 at the University of Glasgow, where they obtained an MA (Hons) degree in Business & Management.
