Shawn Burns

Shawn Burns has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Shawn began their career at Jade Marketing Group LLC in 2012, where they worked as a Logistics Specialist - IT Onsite Coordinator. In this role, they ensured accurate shipment tracking and acted as a liaison between overseas factories and the customs broker. After four years, they joined COCC in 2017 as a WAN Specialist 1. Here, they provided support for wide area networking infrastructure and conducted network troubleshooting and upgrades. Additionally, they contributed to IP-Telephony reliability through network monitoring tools. In 2019, Shawn took on the role of Internet/Security Analyst at COCC, where they managed and monitored internet security infrastructure, ensured data integrity and confidentiality, and provided security support to multiple banks and credit unions using the ServiceNow ticketing platform. Shawn's most recent position is with Cannondale, where they work as a Security Analyst starting in 2022.

Shawn Burns has a diverse educational background in both computer networking management and business administration. From 2013 to 2015, Shawn attended Branford Hall Career Institute-Windsor Campus, where they studied computer networking management. Following this, from 2008 to 2012, Shawn attended Eastern Connecticut State University and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree, with a focus on operations.

In addition to their formal education, Shawn has also obtained several certifications. In May 2016, they received the CompTIA A+ certification from CompTIA. In September 2017, Shawn obtained the CCENT certification from Cisco. Most recently, in May 2022, they obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification.
