Charles Cooper

Charles Cooper is an accomplished executive in the reinsurance sector, currently serving as CEO of Canopius Reinsurance Limited and Group Head of Reinsurance at Canopius Group since September 2023. Prior to this role, Charles held the position of Chief Executive, Reinsurance at AXA XL from September 2018 to April 2022 and served as Chief Executive, Reinsurance at XL Catlin from January 2017 to September 2018. Charles's earlier experience includes the role of President and Chief Underwriting Officer at XL Re Ltd from September 2010 to December 2016. Charles holds an MBA from Columbia University and has further educational credentials from the University of Colorado Boulder.
