Gavin Phillips

Gavin Phillips is the current CFO at Canopius. Gavin has previously served as CFO Pru Insurance and Deputy CFO M&GP (now M&G plc) on Secondment from October 2017 to September 2019. In this role, they worked through a range of issues including transformation, control matters, regular financial reporting, working with Group colleagues and then played a role in merging Pru Uk and M&G. Gavin subsequently demerged to form M&G plc as a separate listed entity.

From September 2012 to May 2017, Gavin served as Lead Partner at Royal London. In this role, they were responsible for a firm with £100bn under management.

Gavin began their career at Lloyd's of London before joining PwC London in 1993. Gavin moved to PwC New York in 1997 and returned to London in 2000. Gavin served as a partner at PwC from September 1993 to January 2022.

They work with Lisa Davis - Chief Executive, US & Bermuda, Nick Betteridge - Chief Actuary, and Mark Newman - Chief Executive, APAC. Their manager is Neil Robertson, Group CEO.
