William Monelle

William Monelle has a diverse work experience in risk management and advisory roles. William is currently working at Canopius Group as the UK Chief Risk Officer since October 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Risk Officer from April 2018 to October 2022. Before joining Canopius Group, William worked at Sompo Canopius as the Head of Risk from January 2017 to March 2018, and as a Quantitative Risk Manager from May 2014 to December 2016. William also gained experience at Mazars UK as a Senior Manager in Risk Advisory from September 2012 to May 2014 and as a Manager in Risk Advisory from September 2011 to September 2012. Earlier in their career, William worked at Sterling Insurance Group as a Pricing and Product Development Manager from September 2009 to September 2011, and as a Pricing and Capital Analyst from July 2008 to August 2009. William also worked at Sterling Insurance Group as an Actuarial Analyst from October 2005 to July 2007, and as a Risk Analyst Administrator from August 2003 to September 2005. Their career started at Skandia as an Actuarial Analyst from September 2001 to August 2003.

William Monelle began their education at Wyvern Secondary School from 1990 to 1996. During this time, they obtained their GCSEs, which included subjects such as Mathematics, Statistics, Science, and English. After completing secondary school, William attended Churchill Sixth Form from 1996 to 1998, where they earned their A-levels in Accountancy, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and General Studies.

William's academic journey continued at the University of Exeter from 1998 to 2001. William pursued a BSc degree in Mathematical Statistics with Operational Research during their time at the university.

In addition to their formal education, William obtained a certification in Business Sustainability Management from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) in May 2021.
