J. Garth Mortensen

J. Garth Mortensen has a long and varied work experience. J. Garth began their career in 2009 as a Front Door/Security at The Basement LLC. In 2012, they moved on to Travis Industries as an Assembler. In 2013, they joined Bluehost as a Full Stack/Perl Developer, Project Manager, and Billing/Support Specialist. In 2016, they became a part of the Core Security Response Team at WordPress. In 2017, they took on the role of Senior Software Development Engineer at GoDaddy. In 2020, they established their own consulting firm, Garth Mortensen Consulting, as a Consultant and Owner. Most recently, in 2019, they became the Head of Application Security at Canopy.

J. Garth Mortensen's education history includes a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University from 2017 to 2019, an Associate of Science in Information Technology from Utah Valley University from 2013 to 2017, a Certificate of Proficiency in Information Technology from Utah Valley University from 2013 to 2015, and some studies at Weber State University from 2010 to 2011. J. Garth also has two certifications from CompTIA, A+ in September 2017 and Security+ in June 2017.
