Shane Farmer

Shane Farmer is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in leading technical projects across various high-profile companies. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Canva since April 2024, Shane previously held the position of Distinguished Software Engineer at Thatch, where responsibilities included co-founding the company and driving key software projects using Java, Kotlin, and Flutter. Prior to that, Shane was the CTO and co-founder at Google, contributing significantly to the development of Android applications and tools that optimized performance for over a billion devices. A diverse career includes roles at Google Play Services, Google Life Sciences, and various other organizations, beginning as a Software Developer at WebResource, ultimately culminating in a comprehensive background in software engineering, development, and technical leadership. Shane holds a degree in Information Technology with a specialization in Software Engineering from Griffith University.
