Gedel Merzius has a strong background in economic development and public administration. Gedel has worked in various leadership roles, including as a Regional Project Director at CAP Government, Inc., where they provided strategic direction and oversaw construction projects in the southeast region. Prior to this, they served as an Assistant City Manager for the City of North Miami Beach, where they managed various government operations and services. Gedel also worked as an Economic Development Specialist for the City of Miami Beach, where they focused on business development and planning. Additionally, Gedel has experience in the tribal sector, having worked as an Economic Development Operations Analyst for the Seminole Tribe of Florida. In this role, they provided sustainable solutions and business analysis for tribal members throughout the state.
Gedel Merzius obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Nova Southeastern University, attending from 2009 to 2010. Prior to that, Gedel Merzius completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology at Florida Atlantic University, where the education spanned from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, Gedel Merzius obtained a Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership from Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies in August 2021.
