Aallyah Wright is a national rural issues reporter at Capital B, a Black-led nonprofit organization, where Aallyah focuses on reporting for Black communities. Aallyah has extensive experience in journalism, including roles as a rural affairs reporter at Stateline and a reporter for Mississippi Today, covering education and local government in the Mississippi Delta. Aallyah has contributed as a playwright and fellow at StoryWorks Theater, researching and co-writing a play about Andrew Hawkins and their legal battle for equal municipal services. Aallyah is a recipient of the Maynard 200 Fellowship and has participated in professional development programs through the Poynter Institute. Aallyah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Delta State University, completed in 2016.
