Brent Kennedy

Brent Kennedy serves as the Senior Director of Offensive Security at Capital One since October 2016, overseeing the Red Team, Purple Team, Penetration Testing team, and Responsible Disclosure & Bug Bounty program to enhance the security posture of the organization. Prior experience includes roles such as Senior Manager of the Red Team, providing technical leadership in threat emulation, and serving as an Adjunct Professor at Norwich University and Carnegie Mellon University, where Brent taught and developed courses in information security. At the CERT Division of the Software Engineering Institute, Brent held the position of Penetration Tester and Team Lead, working on critical cybersecurity projects, including collaborations with the Department of Homeland Security. Brent holds a Master’s degree in Information Security Policy & Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Economics from Washington & Jefferson College.
