Star Peterson

Star Peterson, M.Ed. is an accomplished LGBTQIA and Neurodiversity DEI Trainer with extensive experience in instructional design and training. Currently serving as an Instructional Designer at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Star has also contributed as a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Trainer at Special Olympics Virginia, Inc., where four microlearning courses were developed. As an Instructional Designer and eLearning Developer for Five Keys Schools and Programs, courses focused on gender identity and LGBTQIA+ history were designed. Star has a strong background in delivering DEI training through Stellar Diversity Training and as an LGBTQIA+ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Trainer at the University of Virginia. Star's educational background includes a Master's degree in Severe Disabilities Special Education from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Education from William & Mary.
