Shaun Whorton

Shaun Whorton has a wealth of work experience, beginning in 2010 as the Chief Executive Officer of Dark Tower Security. In 2017, they took on the roles of Editor and Author at CGP Books. In 2018, they became a Subject Matter Expert at Ofqual. In 2019, they moved to Hack The Box as Head Of Content. In 2021, they became Co-Founder and CTO of Capture the Talent and a Senior Penetration Tester at Amicis Group Limited. In 2022, they were a Lead Tutor at CAPSLOCK and a Senior Security Consultant at Cognisys Group. Finally, in 2023, they became a Senior Security Consultant at OnSecurity.

Shaun Whorton has a long and varied education history. Shaun obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Sheffield between 2005 and 2008. Shaun then went on to complete a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (ICT) at Sheffield Hallam University in 2011-2012. In 2017-2020, they obtained a Master of Science in Cyber Security from The University of Sheffield. In 2018, they earned an OSCP certification from Offensive Security. In 2015, they attended Harvard University for a course in Computer Science. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Certified Red Team Operator (Zero-Point Security Ltd in 2022), eCPPT (eLearnSecurity in 2022), Practical Network Penetration Tester (TCM Security in 2022), eCPTX (eLearnSecurity in 2021), Certified Red Team Professional (CRTP) (Pentester Academy in 2021), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH Practical) (EC-Council in 2020).
