MacHaria Lamar

Macharia Lamar has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Macharia started their career in 1994 as a Manager at Rite Aid Corporation before moving on to Alltel Information Services as a Distributed Computing Analyst. Macharia then joined Alltel Communications as a Sr. Distributed Computing Analyst, Central Support. From there, they transitioned to Alltel Wireless as an Enterprise Network Manager, where they were responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of the enterprise desktop environment.

In 2012, Macharia joined Verizon Data Services as a Sr. IT Asset Manager, focusing on IT governance, risk, and compliance management. Macharia later joined Verizon as a Sr. Tableau Developer and Consultant in the Strategy & Analytics department. During their time at Verizon, they supported organizational strategy, efficiency, and growth by automating, developing, presenting, and maintaining dashboards.

In 2019, Macharia joined CapTech Consulting as a Manager in the Data & Analytics department. Macharia served as a Senior Developer, specializing in Tableau, and was responsible for creating reporting and dashboards for clients. In 2021, they were promoted to Sr. Manager, leading a team and actively managing consultant staffing. In 2022, they took on the role of Director - Data & Analytics Practice Area Lead, where they focused on multi-disciplinary growth, engagement, and strategic consultant staffing.

Throughout their career, Macharia has demonstrated expertise in data analysis, visualization, and strategy development.

Macharia Lamar completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Internet Technology Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, from 2011 to 2013. In 1997, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Tuskegee University. Additionally, they briefly studied Business Administration at Alabama State University in 1993. Macharia has also obtained various certifications, including dbt Fundamentals, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Tableau Qualified Desktop Associate, Learning Data Science: Tell Stories With Data, A+, CCNA, CNA 2001, CNE 5, CNE 6, Certified Hardware Asset Management, Certified IT Asset Disposal, Certified Mobile Asset Management, Certified Software Asset Management, Linux+, MCA 2007, MCP 2004, MCSA 2005, Network+, and Security+.
