Liam Monahan has a wealth of experience in software engineering and development. Liam began their career in 2010 as an Undergraduate Research Asst./Programmer at the University of Maryland, where they developed Python code to collect millions of online records and created a tool called DICE. Liam then worked as an I.T. Support Assistant at the same institution in 2012. In 2013, they returned to the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies as a Research Programmer, where they migrated 45k lines of legacy Perl code to Python. Liam then worked as a Software Engineer at Aquicore in 2016, at Bloomberg BNA in 2015, and at the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies as a Senior Software Developer in 2017. In 2017, they also founded Monahan Ventures, LLC, where they developed highly specialized industrial software for clients in the agricultural automation space. Most recently, they have been working as an Engineering Manager at CaptivateIQ since 2020, where they are on a mission to bring transparency and joy to commissions management.
Liam Monahan attended Loyola Blakefield from 2006 to 2010. Liam then attended the University of Maryland from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Philosophy. Liam also obtained the certification "Learning the OWASP Top 10" from LinkedIn in December 2020.
