Ryuji Ishiguro has been working in the technology industry since 1982. Ryuji began their career as a Software Engineer at SRA, where they worked on a Factory Automation System, internationalized and localized an Unix kernel and system, and implemented a number of Unix device drivers. In 1993, they joined Sony as a "Professional Engineer" and built the OpenMG DRM system, the first DRM product of Sony. Ryuji also created a robust, tamper-resistant software scheme and implemented it on various platforms, as well as designed an online content distribution system based on elliptic curve public key encryption. In 2008, they joined Sony Corporation of America as a Senior Design Architect and designed and implemented a mobile application for eBook on iPhone, Symbian and WinMo, as well as invented a cloud service for video and eBook online stores. From 2011 to 2016, they worked at Marvell Semiconductor as a Senior Staff Software Engineer, where they led development of an IoT solution for micro controllers, which involved porting a JavaScript engine, designing and implementing a dynamic loading mechanism in RTOS, and R&D for IoT security. Ryuji also implemented SSL and Apple’s HomeKit Accessory Protocol from scratch, using their own designed cryptographic framework. From 2018 to 2022, they worked at Apple as an Engineer. Currently, they are the Lead Security Architect at Car IQ Inc.
Ryuji Ishiguro obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Security from the University of Liverpool between 2010 and 2012. Ryuji also holds certifications in Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain Technologies from Stanford Online (obtained in November 2022), Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies from Coursera (obtained in November 2016), Machine Learning from Coursera (obtained in November 2016), and Cryptography I from Coursera (obtained in August 2016).
