Gerard Faaij has a diverse and extensive work experience in the manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries. Starting from 1996 at Unilever, they worked as an All-round Process Operator specializing in the manufacturing of surfactants and alkyl alkanoates. Gerard then joined BP in 2003 as a Process Operator, demonstrating expertise in handling complex systems and ensuring safe and efficient operations. Following this, they worked at IOI-Loders Croklaan Oils B.V. as a Process Engineer and later as a Manager Production, where their commitment to driving operational excellence and achieving results was evident. In 2012, they joined Neste as an Operations Engineer, responsible for optimizing refinery processes and ensuring operational excellence through risk analysis and process improvement. Gerard then joined Croda in 2016 as a Shift Manager, successfully managing the safe operations of process units and achieving production targets. From 2017 to 2020, they worked as a Plant Manager at Almatis, driving production excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement through Lean management and the Toyota Production System. Currently, they are an Operations Manager at CARBOGEN AMCIS, utilizing their proven track record to drive operational excellence in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout their career, Gerard Faaij has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to operational safety, meeting production targets, and driving continuous improvement.
Gerard Faaij has an extensive education history. Gerard started their educational journey at Delta College Gouda, where they earned a LBO degree in Automotive technician from 1991 to 1995. Following this, they attended Unilever company school from 1995 to 1996, obtaining a Level 3 degree in Process operator B.
In 2003 to 2005, Gerard enrolled in Technicom Opleidingen and completed a level 4 degree in Process operator C. Gerard then pursued further studies at Technicom Opleidingen from 2007 to 2009, earning a Vapro-D degree in Chemical Engineering.
To further enhance their skills and knowledge, Gerard attended Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2009 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Chemical Engineering.
Seeking higher education, Gerard enrolled at Nyenrode Business University from 2020 to 2021 and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Master in Management.
