Alexander Stewart

Alexander Stewart has a diverse work experience in the field of cloud engineering and system development. Alexander'smost recent role was as a Staff Cloud Engineer at Carbon, starting in April 2019. Prior to that, they worked at Amazon Web Services as a Senior System Development Engineer from April 2018 to November 2018. In this role, they managed a CloudFront hosted website and implemented Lambda@Edge with CloudFront to enhance security. Alexander also reduced deployment schedule from 6 weeks to 1 week.

From April 2016 to April 2018, Alexander worked at Amazon as a Senior System Development Engineer, where they wrote CloudFormation scripts, configured multi-availability zone VPCs, and developed Lambda functions.

Before that, they served as a Senior System Engineer at Collabera from November 2015 to April 2016, where they migrated NAT instances and Memcached instances to AWS services. Alexander also implemented a highly available RabbitMQ cluster using AWS autoscaling groups and Chef.

From September 2012 to July 2014, Alexander worked at Endurance International Group as a Staff Development Operations Engineer. Here, they set up new corporate, preproduction, and production Active Directory domains, led server and Netapp filer migrations, and performed DNS management tasks.

From December 2007 to September 2012, they were a Staff Application Operations Engineer at Intuit. In this role, they organized and led the migration from Windows 2000 to Windows 2008 R2, implemented virtualization using VMWare ESX, conducted a proof of concept for migrating to the Amazon cloud (AWS), and automated configuration file deployments.

Alexander's career started at Homestead Technologies in June 2004, where they worked as a Senior Operations Engineer until December 2007.

Alexander Stewart attended Santa Clara University from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
