Head Of People Development Inc Sustainability Strategic Lead at Card Factory

Jo Wainwright has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. They began their career as a Hostel Support Worker at METROPOLITAN HOUSING TRUST LIMITED in 2005. After that, they worked as an Offender Learning and Skills Service Project Worker at Endeavour Training, where they developed and delivered personal and social development programs for adults and young people.

In 2008, Jo joined Addaction as a Young Persons Substance Misuse Worker, providing support and interventions to young people with addiction issues. They later advanced to the role of Learning and Development Advisor and then Learning and Development Manager UK, leading the organization's learning and development team and implementing various programs.

In 2018, Jo held the position of Leadership Development Consultant at Sheffield Hallam University, where they worked on a project to address the issue of graduates leaving the Sheffield City Region. They collaborated with various stakeholders to design a post-graduate leadership program.

Jo also worked as a Learning and Development Consultant at See Learning Films, specializing in creating video content for learning purposes. They facilitated workshops on shooting professional videos using smartphones.

Prior to their current role, Jo worked at Costcutter Supermarkets Group Limited as a People Development Consultant and Head of People Development. They were responsible for developing the organization's learning and development initiatives, including a "future leaders" development program and a diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.

Currently, Jo is serving as the Head of People Development at Card Factory, leading the organization's people development initiatives.

Jo Wainwright completed a BSc in Psychology with Criminology from The Nottingham Trent University from 2002 to 2005. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Education: Leadership, Mentoring, and Coaching from the University of Derby from 2014 to 2017.
