Namshik Han has a diverse work experience in various research, academic, and industry roles. Namshik started their career as a Researcher at Samsung Electronics from August 2004 to July 2007. Namshik then worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of Manchester from August 2010 to February 2013. Following this, they were a Visiting Bioinformatics Lead at LifeArc's Centre for Therapeutics Discovery from January 2018 onwards. In April 2018, they also served as a Scientific Visitor at the European Bioinformatics Institute | EMBL-EBI. In 2019, they co-founded KURE.ai, focusing on Machine Learning and AI driven T and NK cell therapy. In June 2017, they became the Head of Artificial Intelligence at Milner Therapeutics Institute. Concurrently, they joined the Cambridge Centre for AI in Medicine at the University of Cambridge as an Associate Faculty starting from May 2021. Namshik is also currently an Affiliated Principal Investigator at the Wellcome-MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute from May 2023. Additionally, they serve as an Adjunct Professor at Yonsei University from March 2022 and Co-Founder & CTO at CardiaTec Biosciences LTD from September 2021.
Namshik Han earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Machine Learning and Computational Biology from The University of Manchester. This educational accomplishment took place between 2007 and 2010.
