John Blix has extensive work experience in the medical device industry. John started their career as a Pr. Systems Engineer at ATK in 1984 and then joined Hutchinson Technology as a Project Manager in the Program Management Office in 1987. In 1996, they moved to Boston Scientific and held the position of Director of R&D, where they led the development of delivery systems for various artery stents and other medical devices.
In 2011, John joined St. Jude Medical, where they served as the Director of Program Management and later as the Senior Director Program Management. During their time there, they led the development of device-based therapies for hypertension and oversaw the formation and execution of product development plans for electrophysiology systems and vascular business units.
John then joined Abbott in 2017 as the Director, R&D, leading the systems engineering, software verification, and validation departments for EP systems. John also provided leadership to Abbott's development center in Israel. After this, they founded Enlightened Medical Device Consulting in 2019 before joining CardioMech AS in the same year.
At CardioMech AS, John initially took on the role of VP of R&D before being promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer in September 2020.
John Blix's education history includes an MBA from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management and a BME (Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Minnesota.
