John Barakat

John Barakat has extensive work experience in financial and managerial roles in the healthcare industry. John served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Cardiac Surgery Associates, where they managed revenue cycle management, contract negotiation, and program budgets. John also worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Loyola University Chicago and Loyola University Medical Center, where they handled budgeting, payroll, financial reports, and compliance for sponsored research accounts. Additionally, they held roles as a Financial Analyst at Loyola University Health System and a Lab Manager and Research Specialist at Loyola University Medical Center. Early in their career, they worked as an R&D Technician at Abbott Laboratories. John is currently serving as the Director of Illinois MGMA, a professional association for medical practice administrators and managers in Illinois.

John Barakat obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from Loyola University Chicago from 1995 to 1999. Later, they pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance from the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago from 2005 to 2008.
