Claudine Mensah Awute

Claudine Mensah Awute serves as the Vice President for International Programs and Operations for CARE. Claudine has served with CARE in a number of senior positions in Togo, Ghana, Rwanda, Mali, Benin, & Nigeria for over 20 years. Most recently, Claudine took on the role of Country Director in Nigeria where she was able to lead & process new ways to include innovative models of presence and partnerships in order to multiply impact and increase ‘southern voice’ (we have not yet reached the level of southern membership). She has an unwavering passion for gender equality and women’s empowerment which she has demonstrated over the years across CARE’s development and humanitarian work.
