Stephen Kubiatowski

General Counsel & Senior Vice President For Compliance at CareATC

Stephen Kubiatowski has a vast and diverse work experience in the legal field. Stephen is currently working as the General Counsel & Senior Vice President for Compliance at CareATC since 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Kindred Healthcare from 2016 to 2022.

Before their time at Kindred Healthcare, Kubiatowski worked as a Partner at Faegre Drinker from 2015 to 2016, where they specialized in White Collar Criminal Defense and Investigations, with a focus on healthcare fraud cases.

Kubiatowski also has extensive experience in working for the U.S. Department of Justice, where they held various roles. From 2011 to 2015, they served as the Health Care Fraud and White Collar Crime Coordinator at the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys, providing guidance and assistance to Department leadership and U.S. Attorneys' Offices on investigation and prosecution of white-collar crime and healthcare fraud cases.

Prior to that, Kubiatowski worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in both the Northern District of Illinois and the Central District of Illinois. In these roles, they prosecuted complex federal criminal cases, including healthcare fraud, securities fraud, tax fraud, and embezzlement. Stephen also served as a member of the investigative team in the "Whitewater" investigation.

In addition to their work in the legal field, Kubiatowski has also served as an Adjunct Professor at The John Marshall Law School from 2007 to 2009.

Stephen Kubiatowski has a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from Columbia Law School. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Classics from Dartmouth College. Additionally, Stephen holds multiple Bar Admissions, including ones from the State of Illinois, Commonwealth of Kentucky, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, United States District Court, Central District of Illinois, Washington DC, and the United States Tax Court.
