Shane Gleeson has a diverse and extensive work experience, beginning in 2002 as a Shift Leader, Prep Cook, and Line Cook at Earls Restaurants. In 2008, they became an ESL Instructor at the YWCA of Calgary. In 2010, they took on the role of Level 2 Rope Access Technician at R.A.C Group. From 2012 to 2013, they held multiple positions at BCIT, including Help Desk Support Analyst, Lab Proctor, and Network Administration Peer Tutor. In 2013, they joined Absolute Software as a System Engineer in the External Hosting Operations Support Role. In this role, they took over infrastructure and deployment duties for AWS based ITIL SaaS solution, created full documentation for lifecycle management of the SaaS environment, and created backup regime utilizing bash scripts and AWS S3. ~ Shane also architectured and implemented an environment from ground up to support customer MDM SaaS solution. In 2015, they moved to Central 1 as a Linux System Analyst. In 2021, they joined Bright Health Solutions as a Cloud Engineer. Most recently, in 2022, they began working at CareCru as a Senior DevOps Tech Lead, where they are responsible for leading the Engineering Backend Guild monthly meetings, architecting a network, monitoring, ci/cd, and gitops transition, and managing and mentoring a team of DevOps engineers.
Shane Gleeson has a Computer Information System Administrator degree from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, obtained between 2011 and 2013. ~ Shane also has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Calgary, with a major in Philosophy and a minor in Geography. In addition, Shane has obtained various certifications, including Lean 101 from Lean Sensei International in 2016, Service Excellence Training from Dynamic Achievement Group in 2015, ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Lead Auditor (TPECS) from BSI in 2015, Cisco Certified Network Associate, CCNA from Cisco in 2012, and Architecting on AWS from Amazon.
