As a co-founder of CareWork, Werner Tigges has been inextricably linked to the company since 2005. In addition to his vocation as a graduate social worker, media worker and gestalt therapist, Werner Tigges is also one of our valued advisors thanks to his 2008 manifesto on aging in dignity and for care within your own four walls, as well as being the author of renowned books on geriatric care and care in general.
Werner Tigges gained his experience as: Youth education officer for various districts in Lippstadt; Social therapist and deputy head of a rehabilitation facility for addicts, driving force behind the establishment of homeless facilities, unemployment centers, day-care facilities for pregnant women and single mothers, Managing Director of the Association for Housing and Contacts eV, Founder of a housing advice center for seniors and disabled people with a seniors' internet café in Paderborn, & Founder of the association Neues Forum Alter eV.
In an advisory capacity, Werner Tigges was a member of the board of the housing advice centers in the Düsseldorf Ministry of Social Affairs and was an advisor to the German Pension Insurance Association. From 2011 to 2017 he was also a member of the Board of Directors of Barmer GEK. Since 2017 he has been a volunteer in the Barmer appeals committees.
Since 1980, Mr. Tigges has been committed to decent housing and care for the elderly and counteracts the nursing shortage . In order to further improve the situation for those in need of care, those in need of care and the elderly, he founded CareWork together with the managing director Michael Gomola. Mr. Tigges has been a pensioner since 2015 and still supports CareWork on a voluntary basis and is available for questions with his practical knowledge.
