Angel Santiago's work experience begins in 2000 as the co-founder and Commercial Director of Café Encantos, where they helped establish the brand as a recognized premium coffee in Puerto Rico. Angel played a key role in serving multinational hotel conglomerates, cruise ships, and private labeling for multinational retailers. In 2011, they joined Kellogg Company as a Customer & Trade Customer Marketing Manager, responsible for developing strategic commercial plans and forecasting. Angel then moved on to Mars in 2012 as a Sales & Operations Manager, where they designed optimization strategies and developed sales capabilities. In the same year, they also worked as a Math Professor at Dewey University Inc. In 2013, they joined Caribbean Produce Exchange, Inc. as a Business Development Director and later became the Executive Vice President, overseeing various functions such as business development, operational management, and team development. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Grupo Navis as the Chief Business Officer and is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer.
Angel Santiago attended various educational institutions throughout their career. Angel started their education at Colegio Marista, where they completed their high school and primary education. Later, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Universidad de Puerto Rico, which they obtained between 1995 and 2001.
In terms of professional development, Angel Santiago obtained additional certifications, such as becoming a Q-grader through the Coffee Quality Institute in 2010.
Moreover, they committed to executive education programs to enhance their business acumen. In 2014, Angel completed an Executive Education course focusing on the Food (Produce) Industry at Cornell University. Subsequently, in 2019, they attended two executive education programs at Kellogg Executive Education. The first one was on "Delivering Business Growth: An Actionable Framework," while the second one focused on "Competitive Strategy: Creating and Sustaining Competitive Advantage."
In the present, Angel Santiago is pursuing Owner/President Management studies, specializing in OPM 60, at Harvard Business School, with an expected completion in 2023.
