Newcomer Mental Health Facilitator at Carizon Family and Community Services

Tashi Thomson has extensive experience in mental health and community services, currently serving as a Newcomer Mental Health Facilitator and Community Development Worker at Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health since February 2019. Prior roles include Newcomer Mental Health Facilitator at Carizon Family and Community Services and Newcomer Resource Coach at Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region from 2016 to 2017. Tashi worked at University Settlement Toronto from 2011 to 2013 in various roles, including Out of Cold Relief Worker and Community Access Program Worker, and served as a Community Navigator at Better Living Health and Community Services during the same period. Early career experience includes a role as a Community Health Educator at UNDP in 2004. Tashi holds a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Waterloo, a diploma in Social Service Work from George Brown College, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, English, and Journalism from Mount Carmel College in India. Additional training was completed at the New York Film Academy.
