Alan Buckley has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Their most recent role is as the Managing Director - Head of Airline Marketing at Carlyle Aviation Partners, starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at GECAS from 2016 to 2022, where they held various positions such as SVP & Regional Manager, Europe & Canada, SVP Aircraft Trading, and SVP Asset Management. From 2010 to 2016, Alan worked at GE Capital, where they served as the Managing Director Global Programs - Vendor Finance, and held other roles in commercial excellence, financial analysis, operational risk management, and debt asset management. Before that, they were with GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) Engine Leasing from 2003 to 2010, where they held roles in structured finance, sales and marketing, and engine lease management. Alan's earlier experience includes working at Lufthansa Technik Shannon Limited as a Process and Repair Design Engineer from 1999 to 2003, and at Air Atlanta Aero Engineering as a Repair Design Engineer from 1997 to 1999.
Alan Buckley has a strong educational background. In 1997, they obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Limerick. Alan then pursued further education and completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the same university between 2002 and 2004. In 2010, Alan enrolled in the Crotonville Alumni program, where they studied Corporate Leadership Staff and specialized in Organizational Leadership, receiving their degree in 2014. More recently, in 2022, they attended the Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program, although the field of study is not specified.
