James Solomon, CA(SA), CFA

James Solomon, CA(SA), CFA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. James began their career in 2012 at KPMG, where they worked as a Senior Accountant and later as a Supervisor. In 2015, they joined Super Group as a Finance Manager, where they served until 2018.

Following that, James joined LINX Cargo Care Group as a Reporting Manager for a brief period from December 2018 to June 2019. James then moved to Study Group, where they held positions as Head of Financial Control and later as Head of Finance from 2019 to 2021.

Most recently, James is working at Carma, where they serve as the Financial Controller since July 2021 and has been promoted to the Director of Finance starting from September 2022. Their extensive experience in finance and accounting, along with their professional qualifications, CA(SA) and CFA, makes him a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional in their field.

James Solomon, CA(SA), CFA, completed their education through various institutes and universities. From 2016 to 2018, they studied at the CFA Institute where they obtained a CFA charterholder degree and specialized in chartered finance analysis. Prior to that, between 2008 and 2011, they attended the University of Johannesburg and completed a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a focus on accounting. James completed their high school education at Trinity House between 2003 and 2007.

In addition to their formal education, James holds the Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder certification from the CFA Institute. James obtained this certification in November 2022.
