Colby Painter

Colby Painter is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in engineering and project management. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer for Workday at CarMax since December 2024, Colby previously held key roles at CapTech Consulting from December 2018 to December 2024, including Senior Manager with responsibilities as Account Operations Lead, Workday Integrations Subject Matter Expert, and HCM Transformation Project Lead. Prior to CapTech, Colby worked at the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission for over six years in various positions, including Systems Analyst and Manager, and gained initial experience as a Claims Analyst/Examiner at the Virginia Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund. Colby holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from West Virginia University, awarded in 2009.
