Barbara Shreve

Senior Associate, Networked Improvement Science at Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching

Barbara Shreve's work experience includes various roles and positions in the field of education. Barbara began their career in 2000 as a Teacher and Department Chair at San Lorenzo High School, where they taught math courses and served as co-department chair. From 2003 to 2010, Barbara worked as a Managing Editor and Contributing Author for College Preparatory Mathematics, working on writing teams for textbook series. Barbara then transitioned to Leadership High School, where they taught math courses and served as an advisor and department coach. Barbara also had experience as a Mathematics Specialist at Oakland Unified School District from 2012 to 2014. In their most recent role, they worked at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, first as a Networked Improvement Science Fellow, then as an Associate and eventually as the Managing Director in that field. Throughout their career, Barbara has demonstrated a dedication to improving math education and supporting teachers and students.

Barbara Shreve completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and History at Williams College from 1992 to 1996. Later, they pursued their Masters of Arts with an Emphasis in Teaching at Mills College from 2001 to 2003.
