Julie Edmonds has a strong background in science education and research. Julie served as the Director of Carnegie Academy for Science Education at Carnegie Institution for Science from 2015 to the present. Prior to that role, they were the Co Director of the academy from 2004 to 2014. Julie also worked as a Project Manager in the Biologicals Department at Lofstrand Labs LTD from 1994 to 1999. Julie began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health from 1989 to 1994.
Julie Edmonds received a Bachelor's Degree in Genetics from La Trobe University in 1976, followed by a Master's Degree in Microbial Genetics from the same university in 1982. Julie then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Molecular Genetics from James Cook University in 1989.
