Cecd Kevin S. Dick

Kevin S. Dick, CEcD has extensive work experience in economic and workforce development. Kevin S. is currently serving as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Carolina Small Business Development Fund, where they lead a team of professionals in providing small business financial capital, technical assistance, and policy research. Under their leadership, the organization has significantly increased loan production and has supported over 1,200 businesses throughout the State of NC. Kevin has also restructured the organization, introducing a new revenue stream called fund management.

Prior to their current role, Kevin worked at the City of Charlotte as the Deputy Director of Economic Development. In this position, they led the Talent Development pillar and spearheaded initiatives for corridor revitalization and small business capacity building. Kevin S. also negotiated economic development incentives with notable companies such as Allstate, AXA, EY, and NN, Inc.

Before joining the City of Charlotte, Kevin held various roles at the City of Durham. As the Director of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, they led negotiations on economic development incentives and managed city commitments and investments to leverage private sector investments. Kevin S. played a key role in transforming underutilized properties into community assets, including the conversion of an office tower into a boutique hotel, the revitalization of a building into a charter school, and the rehabilitation of a grocery store into a Save-A-Lot Food Store. Kevin also oversaw the administration of career center programs, including EPA Environmental Workforce Development Job Training and youth green jobs training programs.

Furthermore, Kevin has experience as a Managing Partner at The K2D Group, LLC and as the Director of Operations at Broward Workforce Development Board/Workforce One. Kevin S. began their career as an Assistant to the City Manager at Dania Beach - City of Dania Beach.

Additionally, they have taken classes in European Union and German studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Kevin is a 2022 Goodmon Fellow at Leadership Triangle. Moreover, they are a Certified Economic Developer, which they obtained in January 2017 from the International Economic Development Council.
