Ulrik Hogrebe is a highly experienced design professional with a diverse range of roles in various companies. Ulrik began their career as an intern at Troika, where they worked on brand strategy and projects such as The British Pavilion for Shanghai World Expo. Ulrik then worked as a Design Strategist at e-Types, focusing on brand strategy, concept development, and experience design. Ulrik later joined BBC Online as a Senior UX/Service Designer, where they played a crucial role in enhancing the user experience of BBC's online platforms.
Ulrik then moved to BBC News, where they worked as a Senior Designer and eventually became the Design Director. In this role, they led a team responsible for the UX of the BBC News and World Service responsive websites and successfully launched the UK and international responsive BBC News sites.
Ulrik's career progressed further when they joined frog as the Design Director and Head of Interaction Design in New York. Ulrik led multidisciplinary teams in creating strategy and products for clients in retail, finance, and cultural/entertainment industries. Additionally, Ulrik mentored and managed a team of 15 to 20 interaction designers, fostering a positive and ambitious design culture.
After their time at frog, Ulrik became the Design Director at WeWork, where they built and led a team of product designers. They were responsible for developing WeWork's customer acquisition and growth ecosystem of products.
Ulrik then transitioned to R/GA as a Group Creative Director, where they contributed to the creative direction of the organization. Subsequently, they joined Updater as a Senior Design Director before becoming a Visiting Faculty member at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, where they taught a strategic future-scaping class.
Currently, Ulrik is serving as the Senior Design Director at Carta, utilizing their extensive experience and leadership skills in the design field.
Ulrik Hogrebe began their education in 2003 at Copenhagen Business School, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Business Economics. Ulrik graduated from this program in 2006. Following this, Hogrebe attended the University of Copenhagen from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Master of Arts degree in Visual Culture. In 2009, they enrolled at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design for a one-year program in Interaction Design, which they completed in 2010, earning a diploma in the field.
